About the CWS Data Disclosure

Since 2021, the Chrome Web Store requires all extensions to complete a "Privacy practices" tab in the developer dashboard. This includes declaring what types of user data your extension handles, the purpose for collection, and whether data is shared with third parties.

What triggers data collection?

Reading page content (content scripts), using cookies, storing user data remotely, integrating analytics SDKs, or using any API that accesses user information.

What if I get it wrong?

Inaccurate data disclosures can lead to rejection or removal from the Chrome Web Store. When in doubt, disclose more rather than less — it's always safer to over-declare.
